The human organs are "connected" to Meridians, since body and soul are connected to each other. Each Meridian is an Energy Highway for a respective organ. The Energy Highway consists of the flow of "Qi": the energy of life. The Meridians are intertwined which results in the art of examination: heart pain is not neccessarily caused by the heart but lung and stomach Meridians will be examined.

 

The study of Qi teaches that each day each organ is flooded for two hours by Qi, the energy of life. The principals of the "Organ clock", at which each organ is flooded by Qi at a certain time of the day, dictate the life style and neccessary nutritional support. As an example, the Meridian of the heart is flooded by Qi during noon time.

 

Disturbances of the flow of Qi identify blockages/diseases. Therapies include
